I got an internship with the Terry McAuliffe campaign...
I found out that i'm working the Clinton event on Monday as an Intern and may get to meet Bill....
then I went and celebrated with some awesome people.

What a day... April 16, 2009
ONE DAY! One day without shoes. Today I went barefoot! I don't know if you guys have heard of TOMS shoes... if not, check it out (www.tomsshoes.com). Its an organization very close to me and my heart. For every pair of shoes sold, TOMS donates a pair to a child in need all over the world.
Some people ask.. Why shoes? Why not money or food?
Most children growing up in developing countries have no shoes. We look at our communities.. our cars, buses, bikes. So many kids don't have access to these things. Their feet are their transportation and the stress on them is tremendous. Walking around barefoot also leads to cuts and sores on the feet, which can lead to infections, diseases, and possibly even the loss of a foot or a leg.
I'm not being good with my words right now because it's late, but the point that I'm trying to make is that SHOES MATTER! And this could help so many children around the world. If you know me, you know I love kids. Every child deserves the chance to live a healthy life. If you're interested, check out the website!

Never Forget- Virginia Tech 4/16/07
I can't believe it was 2 years ago that the Virginia Tech shooting happened. It seems like yesterday. I remember exactly where I was when I found out. I remember being glued to the tv that afternoon. I remember trying to call so many friends.. and the phone lines being so tied up. I remember crying to no end... but mostly I remember how the school, state of Virginia, and country all came together.. for a short time atleast, to pay respects and grieve. I will never forget that day.. that feeling. I'm from Richmond, Va, so naturally VT is where half of my friends go to school... I almost went there myself. The tragedy hit so close to home for me...a student from my town and high school was killed. Through all the pain, I just remember everyone coming together.. and being grateful for what we all have. Thats a feeling that should NEVER go away. I'm proud to live in Virginia, and I'm proud to be apart of the (extended) Hokie Nation.
Rest in Peace, Matthew Gwaltney and all of the other Hokies lost that day.

BAHAHA what the hell! I hope this is true and I can't wait to see it! Not saying I'm happy that Terry's signs got stolen.. but happy that there's photo evidence of Republican Bob McDonnell's staff taking them! HAHAHA! what a joke!
I want to go to Shad Plank tomorrow to see the madness unfold.. Brian Moran, Terry McAuliffe, and Bob McDonnell will be there... but looks like I'll be working.. as usual!

Just for the record... I can't stand snow.. AT ALL! I hate it. The only positive thing that has happened today was school being cancelled. It snowed like an inch here and people went NUTS! It never really snows in VA (esp. near the beach), so people freak out if there is a flurry. It probably doesnt help that I don't own gloves or boots. I'm not cut out for coldness! ahhhhh
Nothing has changed lately. I'm still struggling in school. Its just not right for me right now. I still love my job. I wanted to transfer to VCU, but I don't want to leave my job...I love Richmond, though. I miss Richmond. I have a lot to figure out.
I need a campaign or something political to get myself into. I miss the presidential campaign. I'm following the governer's race in VA, so that should get interesting soon.
I'm going to write about the JJ dinner tomorrow.. or this week. I promise. I just need my pictures of Bill Clinton off of my camera!
I think that's enough rambling. Maybe I'll have something interesting to say next time. lol

Inauguration Recap... 2 days later
-I actually woke up at a decent time to watch the arrivals
-I was so insanely jealous of everyone there... even if it was extremely cold.
-Bill was looking SO good...and Hillary looked beautiful in navy
-DICK CHENEY WAS IN A WHEELCHAIR...bahaha this kinda made the whole day for me
-The bow on Aretha Franklin's hat was bigger than her head. what the hell!
-The song right before the swearing in was way too long.
-Joe Biden kinda rushed through his oath. It was kinda cute.
-I kinda find Barack Obama attractive.. and he's totally not my type but he can DANCE!
-They should have made it on time instead of 12:05
-SERIOUSLY JOHN ROBERTS?! hahaha. I only forgive you because you are the youngest and hottest justice.
-What the hell was going on at the Senate lunch?
-Did I mention that Bill looked really handsome?!
-PEACE OUT, George W. Bush... finally
and...HILLARY IS SOS!
I have so much hope right now..I hope people give this administration a chance because it's going to take time to clean up this mess.

i'm getting tired of the same old thing everyday.
wake up, do a fews things, work, home, sleep... its getting really old
school starts again monday and i honestly don't want to go back. i don't have it in my heart to be there right now, so i know i'm not going to try. it's going to be just like last semester. waste of moneyyyyy!
i watched mean girls for the first time in a long time last night. i used to watch it so much. i still know all of the words.. sad, i know. tina fey is so hilarious in it. i love it
i also am becoming attached to the real world brooklyn. i usually don't watch the real world, but every since i left nyc... i've been missing it and wanting to go back. so when i watch it, i feel closer to it. i would honestly move there in a heartbeat.
hillary is amazing. she's so smart. i'm sad to see her leave the senate, but shes moving on the bigger things and shes going to kick ass as sos. i miss bill!
i think i'm going to watch mamma mia tonight. i love that movie... yes, it doesnt really make too much sense. and the timeline isn't at all accurate, but i'm a sucker for musicals.. and dancing. and meryl streep. i love her character in the movie... such a freespirited hippie. a lot of people think she's overrated... but honestly she's brilliant. she can adapt to any role and thats what makes her amazing. and shes looks DAMN GOOD for being a few months away from 60 years old.

School....I still haven't settled out my school situation. I haven't been to any classes in the past 2-3 months. I know it's irresponsible, but I was really unhappy and I have a hard time following my head instead of my heart. If I stay, I will be on academic probation. I'd like to stay here so I can stay at my job. I can't tell if I just need to find a major that I'm more passionate about, or I'm just not into school right now. I don't know what to doooooo!
Grey's... WTF!!!!! Why is Izzie having sex with a dead person. It really bothers me. I try to resist watching it, but I can't no matter how much it sucks! Izzie is going to die. That's why Denny is around so much... STOP DENYING IT! bahaha
Work... I really love my job and have met some pretty awesome people there.
I miss my best friend.
I've been resisting Twilight...but I think I'm going to see it tomorrow with my friend David from work.
Politics.... I want to go to the inauguration but its going to be INSANE!!! and I want actually tickets instead of standing around with a million people... literally.
Also, I am so anxious about Hillary and the Secretary of State job. I have mixed feelings about it. On the one hand, I want her to get it. She is intelligent and has good standing with other nations. I think she would do a great job, I don't doubt that. But she would be pushing Obama's agenda instead of causes she really believes in. If it goes well, Obama will get the credit. If not, I'm sure she will take the hit. She's an awesome senator, but isn't taken seriously enough in the Senate...although now TK is trying to appoint her to head a Senate group relating to health insurance. Bottom line, she's still a junior senator. I'd just like to see her fighting for things she is passionate about. Either way, I think she will be great. I'm just tired of waiting!!!!! And I still love Bill! :D

So, its been a few months since I was in Costa Rica, but I want to write about everything that happened so I won't forget... yeah, I'm a little slow in life.
On July 21, my friend Ryan and I were at dinner at our favorite place, Chilis, and he said he was going to Costa Rica on the 28th and asked me if I wanted to go. His aunt lives there, and his grandma was also going.It all started in a joking way, because I didn't even have a passport... Well, somehow it all came together and it ended up being the best time of my life.
I didn't think I was going to be able to go at first because I didn't have a passport. I ended up going to the Washington DC passport agency on the 25th and we left the 28th. That day was complete HELL! If you need a passport, APPLY early. I seriously think that was one of the most stressful days of my life.
Anyways, I'm just going to do a day by day thing of what happened. This is more for me to remember, but feel free to read it! :) Its going to be LONG!!!! with lots of pictures
I'll put it under a cut so it wont take up the whole friends page.
PS- sorry for the typos- im excited and typing fast. And sorry the picture arent all the same size. I will fix it later
